Chemical analyzes are generally carried out to determine the composition and purity of substances. The studies carried out to determine the composition of a substance, that is, to determine the elements that make up the substance, and to determine the ratios of these elements in the substance are called chemical analysis. Chemical reactions are used in chemical analysis studies.

Chemical analysis processes are different according to the purpose of the examination and the properties of the substance. For example, the analyzes made to determine the type of the substance to be analyzed are called qualitative analysis (qualitative analysis). The analyzes made to determine their amounts and their ratios in the substance are also called quantitative analysis (quantitative analysis).
